Speakin’ in the name of Kurz

is an artificial intelligence art research project with the aim to question the possibilities of state of the art technology. Furthermore it explores the potentiality of artificial intelligence as a tool for subversive political actions. The artificial intelligence framework is made by google and the face recognition is partly financed by Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI)¹. This asks the question of interest by the global economy and the nation-states in these technologies.

Sebastian Kurz is know for his engagement for closing the European border and making the life harder for non-European citizens including the silencing of the voices of the people affected by the restrictive laws. “Speakin’ in the name of Kurz” transforms the real-time face capture of a person with an ordinary webcam into the reenactement of the face of Sebastian Kurz in his inaugural speech at the newly constituted Parliament the 9.11.2017. This gives the performer/visitor the opportunity to change the words said by Sebastian Kurz in his speech.
